Whole Child Approach
Our values at KH Child Care are the fundamental building blocks that support and drive everything we do.
We believe in inclusivity, diversity, positivity, creativity, collaboration, and fun. We deliver these values in all aspects of our organization, in our relationships with our children, parents and guardians, in our day-to-day activities, and in our broader curriculum.
Our mission is to develop the “whole child” through child-led learning and play, providing a warm, loving, and nurturing environment where our children feel safe, welcome, and happy.
Our holistic approach uniquely offers activities specifically designed to encourage each child’s individual growth. Our children acquire fundamental skills through creative learning activities, cooperative play, and practical life skills, to establish self-awareness, confidence, empathy, autonomy, and everyday social awareness.
OUR APPROACH
Experiential Learning
Our whole child approach is based on understanding the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth of our children is cyclical, not linear, with all four dimensions being equally important to support their healthy development.
We offer a Montessori-style, whole child approach where our children are each provided the tools and support they individually need, in partnership with activities carefully designed and delivered to nurture their growth. Through stimulating learning and immersive play, our children develop into bright, confident, positive, and happy individuals.
Within each child, we aim to develop their emotional regulation, cognitive growth, physical development, and socialization. We support and explore their ever-increasing curiosity about the world around them, enabling each of our children to become a self-directed learner, flexible thinker, creative problem solver, and effective communicator.

OUTDOOR PLAY
The benefits of outdoor play at KH Child Care include:
Emotional development: creative use of all five senses to develop emotional regulation and independence

OUR STORY
Our founder Kate is a trained Intervention Specialist, with an Honors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a Registered Behavior Therapist, certified with the State of Colorado, and certified with the International Coaching Federation as a Health Coach, Life Coach, and Advanced TCM Coach (Transitional Coaching Method).
For the past two decades, Kate has been working as a Child Behavior Therapist and an Early Childhood Educator, improving the lives of children, families and communities through her inclusive, diverse, positive, creative, collaborative, and fun approach to child development.
In the very early days of Covid, Kate and her husband were living in Manhattan. Learning they were pregnant, they decided to move to Colorado for the improved lifestyle opportunities it offered them and their growing family. Once their son was born, they found a scarcity of child care options of the caliber they were looking for. Rather than compromise their child care expectations, Kate decided to not return to therapy, and instead create her own enriching environment for their son to learn and play, which could also be enjoyed by other families.
KH Child Care was born.
Kate’s unique method actively promotes a holistic whole child approach by combining the science in her specialized field of behavior therapy with her extensive knowledge of early childhood development, contemporary innovation techniques, and new and old methodologies, including those of Maria Montessori.
In 2023 Kenzie joined the KH family.

Founder
Kate is a dedicated, passionate and motivating educator who embodies the values of her organization. Her unique combination of empathy, love, accountability, courage, and inner-power combined with her professional experience and knowledge have made KH Child Care a leader in child development.
Away from work, Kate is an accomplished marathon runner, swimmer, and triathlete who sees challenges not obstacles, solutions not problems, and results not outcomes.
